Blood Bowl 3 Beta – First Game on the Friday Patch

Good to see they are making progress, it's a lot easier now to follow what's actually happening. The main problem still persists though, which is that I cannot even watch YT videos of the game for more than a few minutes at a time before starting to feel physically sick. And I'm not exaggerating. There's no way I would be able to play a full match of this game as it is now.
You just shouldn't use bright colors this much, they should be used sparingly and in small accents. Frankly I'm quite astonished how the game's Art Director has let it come to this. It's unbearable.

The players and the pitch really don't stick out much? All looks a big glossy and white. Hard to describe but it's a bit off. UI is also pretty bad. Animations taking your time, too. Just give 5seconds to determine a dice roll THEN it cuts into your time, etc. Otherwise what, you punish with lots of stuns let's say in one turn, your turn will take longer meaning quite likely you lose time. Dice roll and action wheel are just awful in current iteration.
All this said, looking good overall and hyped for BB3. Just hope they iron out the messy parts.

The clutter is still too much, it’s like a dodgy iOS game.

I liked the models of BB2.
Orcs, Humans, all starter teams really. They were funny and cool looking the same time.
The standard of the 3D models got inconsistent later in the DLCs.
These are just cartoony not in a good way.

I just really don't like the new UI, which partially is my autism not liking change, but I also do feel like it has lost a lot of its fanatasy sports game charm to looking very… bog standard sports game aesthetics ALONGSIDE just being way too much going on at once. It feels like in an effort to make things more helpful/guiding for players who don't necsessarily know bloodbowl before playing they have just made it all that more confusing. Hurts my eyes 🙁

Im not sure what the changes are and im guessing the patch notes are NDA for the beta? That being said all the issues of unreadability of the game screen due to clutter, UI elements covering eachother and too many colors still persist. If there are differences, they are too subtle to pick up and the game is still suffering. I have hope they take a step back and rethink how much of a departure they really need from something thats well streamlined as a UI like BB2. Graphical changes to the UI in theory are fine but overall consistency between one title and the next is going to serve them well. Especially when the UI has taken such a massive step backwards as far as readability.

In BB2 you could have it so that it only showed skills gained through level ups over the models heads, has that been removed ?

I think that the moving UI elements need to be a lot less saturated. Hopefully that would help with the busyness. An example of that is when during set up the white dashed lines rotate around the center of the pitch and the 2 sides of the pitch. They're just so dang bright. But it definitely looks easier to play than it did last week.

EDIT: Coming back to finish the video after sleeping. Watching it in a dark room. Holy crap this game is bright.

Will this game be full of microtransactions like the last one was??
